Gilda's Club Seattle

Noogieland is for children impacted by cancer - whether a child who has had a family member or friend with cancer, who is the survivor of someone wirh cancer, or who has cancer.

Camp Agape Northwest PO BOX 65504, University Place, WA 98464; 206-325-4347. Camp Agape is for children with cancer and their entire family, parents, siblings etc. It is located on Raft Island (which is near Gig Harbor, Washington across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge). The camp is put on by the Greek Orthodox Churches of Seattle/Tacoma but is not a religious camp.

Camp Mak-A-Dream is operated by Children's Oncology Camp Foundation and is a medically supervised, cost-free camp for children (ages 6-13), teens (ages 14-18) and young adults (ages 19-25) with cancer and their siblings (ages 6-17). The facility is located approximately 65 miles east of Missoula, Montana on I-90 at the Gold Creek exit, just 3/4 of a mile south of the Interstate. Contact at P.O. Cancer Lifeline - Children's Group for children whose parent or grandparent has cancer. Family visitation program, with an RN skilled in family counseling.

Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation 7910 Woodmont Avenue, Suite 460, Bethesda, MD 20814-3015; 1-800-366-2223. Provides information, support and advocacy for families of children who have cancer and survivors of childhood cancer. Kids Konnected Nonprofit organization that offers friendship, understanding, education and support for kids who have a parent with cancer. Kids can call their 24-hour hotline at 1-800-899-2866 for support and to ask questions.

The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp 1-860-429-3444. A summer camp founded by Paul Newman for children with cancer and serious blood diseases. Located in Ashford, Connecticut.

Seattle's Child Newspaper which has information on children's activities and resources. Pick up a free copy at public libraries.

Tender Loving Care Virginia Mason Hospital, 1201 Terry Avenue, 206-583-6521. Day care center for mildly ill children. Staffed with registered nurses.

To-Be-Me - A site for teens with cancer. This site is intended to augment the in-hospital Look Good.Feel Better for Teens program, a free public service for teens between 13 and 17 that provides information dealing with the appearance and sociological side-effects related to cancer and its treatment.
